Vendors vs. sponsors
A sponsor pays you. A vendor is who you pay — catering, A/V, swag, security. Vendor records are internal only.
Vendors also use a global Vendor Directory (admins only) so the same catering or A/V partner can be reused across events. Master profiles hold the company name, vendor type, and default contact. When you attach a vendor to a specific event, you can override the contact and add event-specific notes.
What to record
- Master profile: vendor name, category (Catering, A/V…), default contact, notes
- Per-event: overridden contact name/email, event-specific notes, status
